Antique 19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Brass Relief Dragon Tribute Bowl and Plate Set

This extraordinary set dates to the late Qing Dynasty (circa 1870–1900). Unlike common tall drinkware or deep domestic vessels, this matches a traditional tribute bowl and presentation stand system (Gongwan). Hand-cast from heavy solid brass, the piece features a low-profile, shallow basin silhouette favored for offering ceremonies on aristocratic alters and within scholars' studios. The outer wall of the bowl is wrapped in a high-relief imperial cloud dragon chasing the flaming pearl, while the shallow stepped rim of the presentation tray displays prominent raised auspicious Chinese characters bestowing protection and longevity.
