Antique Japanese Showa Era Incised Gold Kiri Wood Box with Nashiji Interior

This lightweight box dates to the early Showa Era (circa 1920–1940); hand-carved from traditional, ultra-light structural Paulownia (Kiri) wood. The exterior landscape scene is hand-incised directly into the raw wood substrate before being enveloped in a metallic golden-amber Urushi lacquer.
