Dog Biscuit dining chair
The "Dog Biscuit" dining chair is an iconic American Mid-Century Modern piece from Heywood-Wakefield, named for its distinctive, curved backrest resembling a dog treat. Originally prototyped by Count Alexis de Sakhnofsky in 1931, it was refined by designer W. Joseph Carr and put into mass production around 1950, becoming a popular, comfortable, and stylish part of their "Streamline Modern" lines, known for its light wood and functional elegance.
