Hand-Carved Bone Trinket Boxes, with Boxes

A set of late 20th-century Chinese hand-carved bovine bone miniature trinket containers with original presentation boxes.

One, shaped like a beautifully wrapped present, the lidded box features a large, sculptural bone ribbon bow on top. The exterior is completely adorned with fine, scrimshaw-style etched patterns, the lid lifts off.

The second, sculpted vertically into an oval egg silhouette, mimicking a fabric-wrapped package. Unlike standard lift-off boxes, this unique vertical variant features an antique-style brass hinge and a beautifully detailed brass flower-shaped thumb clasp along its center seam.
