Antique 19th Century Grand Tour 6" Bronze Bust of Venus de Milo

This 6-inch classical library sculpture is an authentic late 19th-century European art bronze reduction of the Venus de Milo (the ancient Greek Aphrodite of Milos, circa 100 BC).

Manufactured during the late Victorian era (circa 1880–1900) for the Grand Tour tourist market, the bust was cast using traditional sand-molding techniques. Structurally, it features a solid-cast portrait torso mounted over a historically accurate hollow pedestal base, a standard manufacturing method of the period to balance weight and save raw materials. The raw metal surface remains entirely unpolished, preserving a century of natural environmental oxidation consisting of a authentic white and green verdigris crusting settled within the chiseled hair folds and lower base rim.
