Antique Weimar Republic Paper Globe Bank, 1924-1929

Expertly crafted during the Weimar Republic era, this rare piece was produced by the legendary cartographic publishing house of Paul Räth in Leipzig, Germany.

Unlike common tin toy banks of the era, this globe features traditional plaster and paper-mâché construction. The sphere is hand-wrapped in authentic paper map gores, showcasing a gorgeous, naturally aged sepia patina and fine craquelure varnish that only a century of history can provide.

Printed entirely in German, the map captures a specific geopolitical window between 1924 and 1929. Notable markers include "Leningrad" (renamed in Jan. 1924) and "Sowj. Rußl." (Soviet Russia), alongside classic abbreviations like Frnkr. (France) and Großbrit. (Great Britain).

The unique "North Pole" coin slot marks it as a novelty educational tool designed to encourage children to save money while learning geography.
