Vintage Japanese Imari Style Porcelain Square Phoenix Serving Bowl

Formed during the late mid-century Showa Era, this collectible porcelain dish is marked with an authentic iron-red block-lettered JAPAN export stamp on the bottom. The inside features a spectacular Gokunishiki-inspired design, showcasing four sweeping mythical Phoenix birds rendered in iron-red, ochre yellow, deep cobalt blue, and sage green enamels.

The walls slope down to frame a beautifully detailed central medallion containing a traditional waterside architectural pavilion nestled under cascading weeping pine branches. Hand-highlighted throughout with brilliant gold gilt accents that define the bird feathers and geometric borders, this preserved bowl serves as a commanding centerpiece statement.
